Mighty Mouse theme – music by Philip Scheib lyrics by Marshall Barer

Marshall was not too proud of this song but it was a huge hit and helped him economically for a long long time.
Marshall claimed that he wrote the lyrics on a taxi cab on the way to the recording session, like Lorenz Hart Marshall could wrote songs in a very short time and in very strange situations.
The song is also known as “Here I come to save the day!”.
Mighty Mouse was originally voiced by Roy Halee. He also provided the singing voice.

Lyrics
Mister Trouble never hangs around
When he hears this Mighty sound:

“Here I come to save the day!”

That means that Mighty Mouse is on the way!

Yes sir, when there is a wrong to right
Mighty Mouse will join the fight
On the sea or on the land
He gets the situation well in hand

So though we are in danger
We never despair
‘Cause we know that where there’s danger
He is there!
He is there! On the land! On the sea! In the air!

We’re not worryin’ at all
We’re just listenin’ for his call:

“Here I come to save the day!”

That means that Mighty Mouse is on the way!

  1. Rosie Avila refers to this song (from her childhood television viewing of “Mighty Mouse” in the 1950s) in the first chapter of her new, soon to be published, book : “America Needs a Superhero” (RosieAvila.com). (See John 3:16) PS: In your line 4 above, “wrote” should be “write”. 6/5/15 SW

    • Bob M says:

So do I Rosie. It was my favorite cartoon of my childhood. My Granddaughter, Charlotte picked it out as my ring tone. I am buying 7 copies of My Dog Spot for all the grandkids. Two sets of twins, 3 girls and a boy. Three in CA. We will watch Might Mouse, and enjoy!!!!!!!!
